Today we announce the immediate release of cineXML – the offline to online workflow tool for Avid editing products and REDCINE.

cineXML provides a smooth Red workflow for Avid Media Composer and is now available for both Windows Vista and Mac OS X Leopard.

REDCINE from Red Digital Cinema Company is a free software for Mac and PC which is used to convert the Red files to industry standard formats like DPX and QuickTime. The application does not directly support importing pull lists from editing applications to render just what is being used in the final program. cineXML, a third party tool for Mac and PC, removes this limitation for Avid editing products.

Get it HERE
We will continue to add features to the app. The first one will be the XML subdivide function to limit the amount of clips in one Redcine session. This also enables multiple computer rendering for tight deadlines.

The Windows version will be released very soon and the features will be slightly different due to how Windows handles symlinks. The effect will be that the clips will not be shown in sequence order. Instead they will be listed in alphabetical order which is the default for Redcine.

We hope cineXML will bring you a smooth Red/Avid workflow.
